cover: Reuben Hollis Fleet (1887–1975) was an American aviation pioneer, industrialist, and U.S. Army officer. He grew up in Grays Harbor, Washington, After college he became involved in real estate and joined the Washington National Guard. Anticipating America's entry into World War I, he joined the aviation section of the U.S. Army's Signal Corps. Following the war, he founded and led several corporations, including Consolidated Aircraft, which following a merger became known as Convair. He later founded the San Diego, California, Aerospace Museum.
