Notes cover price: 15 cents cover: Otto Hermann Kahn (1867–1934) was a German-born American investment banker, collector, philanthropist, and patron of the arts. He moved to the United States in 1893. In business, he was best known as a partner at Kuhn, Loeb & Co. who reorganized and consolidated railroads. As an extremely wealthy financier, Kahn was president and chairman of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Opera, vice-president of the New York Philharmonic, and treasurer for the American Federation of Arts. He also supported many individual artists, including George Gershwin and Arturo Toscanini.
