Its 1958 , and what is in the packed magazine?

Well B.B.C. Television's Magnetic Tape recorder ( VERA ) , that is recording on Standard 1/4 tape ( spools are about 15in diameter - I have not read article) . B.B.C testing 625 Line Broadcasting and there are design circuits for transistor based television receivers.

(Don't forget John Logie Baird was saving his camera broadcasts to disc in the early 1930s (30 lines only at that time )

Mind you East Anglia was only getting I.B.A. broadcasts just coming in , and The B.B.C. / G.P.O. solving how to broadcast TV Signals to East Kent

Rear advert not for Multi Core Solder , because , Multi Core had recenctly acquired the Reflectograph brand from Rudman Darlington , into their MultimusicLtd subsidary (itself formed to make and market Magnetic Tape Accessories - like "Bib" splicer invented by Richard Arbib) Dr James Cunningham Sands designer of Reflectograph moved to Multimusic as well.
