Fokeman 4th Nov 2019 | | MagazineNew City Songster (1979) | Colour saturation is completely wrong in these images. Actual colour is virtually dayglo-orange as bright an orange-red you can imagine. For some reason the scanner doesn't like such bright colours!
Fokeman 1st Nov 2019 | | MagazineNew City Songster (1970) | Note the 3 shillings price on release. Later it was converted to new pence (15p) before progressive price rises to 20p (with a sticker) and then later still 25p with a new printing. So there are at least 4 possible states for this little magazine/book.
Fokeman 30th Oct 2019 | | MagazineNew City Songster (1970) | Issues 4 & 5 together in the same issue
Fokeman 17th Mar 2019 | | MagazineThis Note's For You (2001) | ... and how come all of the images are the same? Did they all have exactly the same cover or have you simply used the same photo for all of them?
Fokeman 15th Aug 2018 | | MagazineFolk Scene (1981) | This is not the same magazine as the UK magazine of the same name.
Fokeman 31st Jan 2018 | | MagazineFolk Review (1974) | This bearded, cigarette-smoking sailor would later change his name to Louisa Jo Killen and continue performing songs until her death. A wonderful, international folk-singer and performer of sea-songs and songs from the North-East. Louis / Louisa Jo Killen obituary
Fokeman 31st Jan 2018 | | MagazineFolk Review (1978) | On this issue the Volume is incorrectly given as 8 instead of 7, thus Volume 8 Issue 12 was allocated (by error) to this one and a year later to the correct Volume 8 Issue 12.
Fokeman 31st Jan 2018 | | MagazineFolk Review (1978) | In this issue, the issue numbering went all to pot and it was given the numbers Volume 8 Issue 13 since the previous one said, wrongly Volume 8 Issue 12 when it should have been Volume 7 Issue 12.
Fokeman 31st Jan 2018 | | MagazineFolk Review (1978) | Throughout the front cover and entire article dedicated to the group inside the magazine, the group are only referred to as "The Celebrated Ratcliffe Stout Band", thereby failing to use their correct name even once!
Fokeman 30th Jan 2018 | | MagazineFolk Review (1976) | Philip Pickett was an early music specialist and is pictured here with his head between Ashley Hutchings and Eddie Upton. Apologies for those shocked by finding this out but Philip Pickett had a very dark secret which he hid for many years. The Court Case

Fokeman 22nd Nov 2017 | | MagazineFolk Scene (1965) | For those interested in John Marshall or Austin John Marshall his Obituary makes fascinating reading.
Fokeman 8th Mar 2017 | | MagazineSing (1954) | The first issue was literally drawn / printed by hand on the front cover, whereas the reprint had typewritten text converting to text what had been done by hand.
Fokeman 2nd Feb 2017 | | MagazineSing (1963) | Many thanks Graham.
Fokeman 7th Feb 2016 | | MagazineEnglish Dance And Song (2013) | Would it be alright if we called this "English Dance & Song" since that is its title before the EDS abbreviation. It wasn't abbreviated in the 1950s and I'm going to put some up from the early days. It would be silly to have two different magazine entries.
Thanks

Fokeman 28th Oct 2015 | | MagazineRecord Collector (1968) | That looks better, I'm convinced that this is correct!
Fokeman 19th Sep 2015 | | MagazineThe Southern Rag (1981) | April-June1981
Vol 2 No. 4
Fokeman 19th Sep 2015 | | MagazineSing (1968) | It shall be done TopPopper...
It is a bit of a let down, I'm afraid. Just a song and the announcement of "A Laugh A Song And A Hand-Grenade" and his new book which is about to be issued.
Fokeman 12th Sep 2015 | | MagazineRecord Collector (1969) | Can we all agree that this is "Country Record Collector" with volume 8 falling exactly between the two issues currently uploaded (7&9). The fact that all artists are actually C&W singers might swing it...
Fokeman 12th Sep 2015 | | MagazineRecord Collector (1968) | Although it doesn't have the name here, this is surely "Country Record Collector" which had the issue number 8 in May 1969 with issue 9 in Nov 1969. All artists in "Record Collector [60s]" are actually Country Music stars so it would make sense. It is clearly the same magazine as even the price is exactly the same, even if the design looks a little different from issue to issue.

Fokeman 10th Aug 2015 | | MagazineSing (1970) | Issue Number 61
