GEMSMFAN 12th Apr 2015 | | MagazineABBA Magazine (1977) | anyway, the mags are small and easy to scan two or more at a time.

GEMSMFAN 12th Apr 2015 | | MagazineABBA Magazine (1977) | the mods will respond.. be patient as they probably have a lot to do.
Another ABBA related note... I just read in today's paper that "Mamma Mia"
will play it's last performance, here in New York, in September... grossing over $600 million in it's 14 year run.

GEMSMFAN 12th Apr 2015 | | MagazineABBA Magazine (1977) | ah, very nice... the original UK ABBA magazines are finally entering!!
Being that these were from the British ABBA Fan Club, I never got these,
nor would I invest in them, since they were quite pricey.
I joined ABBA Army America which was a short-lived U.S. club and I received
numerous of the International ABBA Magazines, of which I already submitted, awhile ago.

GEMSMFAN 14th Oct 2013 | | MagazineParade (2013) | the image on this is awful. everyone has reddish faces. you must have your scanner or the program you're using set to "auto contrast", as the colors aren't natural, but way too intense OR you're contrasting yourself. I doubt the actual magazine looks like this. ???
|
GEMSMFAN 13th Oct 2013 | | MagazineGoldmine (1994) | I used to subscribe to this and it was a tabloid size magazine (this issue is one of those) with features plus loads of ads, selling music (records and the like)... comparable to UK's Record Collector.
Since the internet, the buy lines part, which made up the bulk of this has really diminished. It is a small publication now.
|
GEMSMFAN 13th Sep 2013 | | MagazineAARP The Magazine (2013) | the primary image is so over processed (heavy contrast). not natural and not what the magazine looks like. the 2 images I added (modified issue). Left is actual colors (natural) and right is (processed, similar to above) altered colors.
Gloria's hands/arms are orange in the primary image. LOL

GEMSMFAN 9th Sep 2013 | | MagazineFilms Illustrated (1978) | are you capturing images off of eBay? the images are blurry when enlarged and the eBay camera logo (lower right) is visible on all these images.
|
GEMSMFAN 27th Jul 2013 | | MagazineTempo (1972) | this looks like the Indonesian adaption of the U.S. Time magazine, same format... the red outline
|
GEMSMFAN 8th Jun 2013 | | MagazineRecord Collector (1993) | good to see this issue. Christopher Dirks wrote/provided the feature on Gloria Estefan, which I was co-credited with discography info. I spent several hours on the phone to California, providing labels, catalog numbers, etc. for the feature which
has both U.K. and U.S. discographies, as well as a few key other imports.

GEMSMFAN 4th May 2013 | | MagazineHeadlights (1999) | The Bulletin, which looks like a glossy now also, used to be a typed 10 to 20 page stapled paper, with no photos, but would quite often include hand drawn track diagrams (mostly old trolley lines in NYC) and it was then called New York Division Bulletin. It was only sent to New York Division ERA members, who could only get membership after national ERA dues were paid.
I recall it spent detail describing subway train number line-up's, car scrappings, etc. unsure, if it still includes such detailed info.

GEMSMFAN 4th May 2013 | | MagazineHeadlights (1999) | interesting, a UK collector having this magazine. I notice the $10 price. Is this available at the newsstand now? and in the UK?? This was a magazine that was only sent to association members. I've got several issues, as I was an ERA member for about a year and in 1976, the magazine was just a black and white glossy then. I had a teacher in school, who was a rail buff, like myself, and he would give me issues of this also. Anyway, it's been published since 1939!

GEMSMFAN 20th Apr 2013 | | MagazineEntertainment Weekly (2013) | I notice you cut out your post address box (lower left).. a suggestion, instead of cutting it out.. leave it, but blank out the white area? if you're using a program like Photo Shop, you can either color it out or extend the white across it, so that your address doesn't show. The page 3 image showing through looks silly.
