gregs45s SUBS 20th Jan 2018		Magazine How It Works (2018)	First time i've bought this mag,it's quite interesting,jam-packed with information (if guilty of being slightly dumbed-down somewhat,not unlike TV also today i suppose;) Featuring an article on drones,and how companies like Amazon,and UPS will be using them for small parcel deliveries. Currently,Amazons drone has a range of about 16km,so multiple despatch bases would be needed up and down the country,UPS have a different approach,loading the drones from within their familiar brown vans,then onto the customer from there. The proposed maximum weight for a delivery drone is around 2.3kg,that's about the same as a couple of pairs of trainers. There are many issues to overcome yet of course,weather,distance,air safety,landing etc,but the estimate is that they will be flying over our heads by 2021. I'm not sure as to whether this would be a wise idea or not,a trial period needed to persuade me.as one person quipped "Won't people shoot them down and nick the stuff" :) Also,check out the OXFAM vinyl ad on the back cover,the poor chap has some serious vinyl storage/playing issues ;) Mod's have also included a scan of where the 45 Cat/Worlds servers are rumoured to be housed,in a hollowed-out mountain in Switzerland,any truth in that?,if not,why not?;) (feel free to delete scan if deemed to be a security breach;)

gregs45s SUBS 3rd Aug 2017		Magazine National Geographic (2017)	Good "Space" issue,also features an interview with Matt Damon (actor),co founder of Water.org,a non-profit that promotes access to safe water and sanitation,along with an article on worldwide sanitation.In the Western/developed world,we take clean water/inside toilets for granted,but,worldwide,some 950 million people defecate outside,in fields,etc (yes,that's a hell of a lot of crap!,daily!) mainly down to lack of facilities/finance,but also some cultures still consider it "dirty" to have a toilet inside the house.A real challenge for the world health organisations.
