|
RadoxTheGreen 6th Nov 2014 | | MagazineWhat Satellite And Digital TV (2014) | What Satellite and Digital TV gets this truncated shadow of its former self as its final farewell issue. Like last month's offering, issue 346 is bereft of any reviews or feature articles. Once again, there is a "bonus" bundling with Hi-Fi Choice magazine, a bizarre coupling given that all the What Satellite and Digital TV links on the website are now pointing to its sister magazine Home Cinema Choice, arguably a more logical jumping point for Wotsat subscribers.

RadoxTheGreen 25th Oct 2014 | | MagazinePrivate Lies (1985) | This isn't a Private Eye publication, Private Eye is fortnightly and always has the full date, not just the month.
Who does it say the publisher is? If it's the Eye it will say Pressdram, if it's anything else, including a parody of the Pressdram name, it's not Private Eye and needs to be moved out of the Private Eye category and given its own listing. I suspect though, that this was never sold as an actual magazine, it's just a one-off newspaper supplement to hit back at the Eye for ruffling someone's feathers.
|
RadoxTheGreen 18th Oct 2014 | | MagazineWhat Satellite And Digital TV (2014) | Worryingly showing all the signs of a magazine title that has had the plug pulled by the publisher, this months What Satellite and Digital TV has been reduced to fewer pages than Private Eye.
No reviews, no tests, none of the usual features, just the bare basics to make up this fizzled out edition of the only magazine for satellite TV enthusiasts in the UK.
The subscription page only offers Hi-Fi News, Hi-Fi Choice and Home Cinema Choice options. There is no "Next Month" page in this edition.
UPDATE:
Response from Hi-Fi Choice to my questions about What Satellite TV's future:
"What Satellite & Digital TV magazine is still very much part of the AVTech Media group, but has ceased trading in its original 124-page format.
Best regards
Hi-Fi Choice Team"
