| kab2112 SUBS 20th Jan 2023 | RIP Dave Crosby. He was excellent at harmonising with other singers, especially Graham Nash. They were great buddies for years, but sadly had a big falling out. He was excellent here with CSNY. | |
| kab2112 SUBS 3rd Jul 2020 | ReviewThere were three of us and we got to the venue about 10am and made for the seating area right by the royal box as we thought this would give us the best view, near where we could access the facilities – food, drinks, toilets etc. and keep our seats. I seem to remember that we sat on wooden benches until the concert finished sometime after 10pm. To say I had a sore a**e would be an understatement. I had not heard much of Jesse Colin Young but his set was very good and I bought two albums of his the next day which are not bad really. I was a big fan of “The Band” and they were excellent with Rick Danko in fine form. I was also a huge Joni Mitchell fan and still think that she was one of the very best singer songwriters of that genre. She was brilliant on the day. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young were very good and Joni came on to join them at some stage. ( I have their performance on a bootleg CD) so can still indulge in nostalgia. The price of food and drink was “Staggering” compared to other venues we went to about that time. The royal box was interesting with celebrities seemingly coming and going – Robert Plant – Britt Ekland – Adam Faith to name a few. We could only get into a posh hotel in Kensington (I think) for the Saturday night and had room only, but we decided to have a breakfast before leaving – Very Posh. When we went to check out later on after a little shopping, they did not charge for breakfast although we had given our room numbers etc. Overall a brilliant day out other than the fact that I had a John Wayne walk for a day or so. 3 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? | |
