 The old Brighton shop was on large corner site, in the city centre near the Clock Tower, now redeveloped as Boots the Chemist. I spent time sitting on the large comfy mushrooms in the listening area, with headphones on. Oh, and I did also buy quite a few albums there, early to mid 70’s. Must have been one of Virgin Records very earliest stores. On the side streets between here and the railway station, down to the London Road were a number of great second hand/ collectable record shops and many a happy day was spent gathering armfuls of vinyl. I would also take in Cottage Records, near the Dome, and the Public House Bookshop (for bootlegs) and The Diskery (upstairs through a pram shop!), on Western Road heading into Hove.

(Update: yes this was one of the first stores. I’ve a Virgin records advert from 1971, and they had 3 shops at that time:- Oxford St, London; Bold St, Liverpool and Clocktower, Brighton. I think they then opened a store in Corporation Street, Birmingham, followed by Notting Hill Gate.)
