Topic: How to post 78 albums?

Yes, they generally did use different cat numbers eg. HMV D series were numbered 1 to 2000+, but the auto-coupled sets were numbered 7000 upward.

The earliest autochangers didn't hold as many records as the later ones, so you'll sometimes find two autocoupled sets of the same record set, one for the earlier autochangers and one for the later ones eg HMV D1172 -82 (The Mikado) has two autocoupled sets: D7000-10 and D7697-7707.
