This guy tends to be one of the 'know it alls' in record world. His price determinations seem to be more based on his ego than anything else. A few years ago he found a 78 on Sun (from Memphis) by a widely unknown rockabilly singer. The record was in garbage shape. He declared it to be super rare and a lost treasure and worth tens of thousands of dollars. The valuation that he gave to it was really only his guess.

I haven't heard anything about this. Any specifics?

He was in the news in a similar way in 2009, when a Sun blues 45 (not a rockabilly 78) was bought by him on eBay for $10,323. But I don't recall him giving any valuation for it other than the price he actually paid himself.
