We already have "Linked Releases" which fulfil the objective you quite rightly highlight. But I do think reissues and so on do need to be fully visible in the discographies. We also need to be mindful that not all contributors will be regular users like your good selves, and we don't want to make it harder to find a particular version of an album. Also I'm unsure how it would look, visually speaking, if we implemented something like has been suggested.
