When entering US Columbia Albums on the website, please take care to include the actual album catalogue number and not the Matrix Numbers, which appear quite prominently on album labels, and can easily be mistaken for the catalogue number.

On the spine of US Columbia Group Product sleeves is the actual catalogue number, which will be repeated on the album labels both sides. Simply check that the spine number matches the label number, and you cannot be wrong.

If you see a number like AL 37888 on one side of an album label and BL 37888 on the other side, that is a matrix number, and should only be entered in notes, if you wish, when you submit your entry. JC 37888 will be the actual catalogue number (only used for example).

Columbia album prefix (price) codes were C, KC, PC, JC, FC and TC, with corresponding changes to JE for Epic, JZ for P.I.R. and so on, throughout all the affiliated labels distributed by Columbia.
