Member since Dec 2010 733 Points	I worked for two record companies in the 1970s that distributed Blue Note product, United Artists and Transatlantic. Transatlantic had a licensing deal with the american parent company Liberty in 1965 (I think), and then United Artists circa 1972 to sell their product, LPs only as far as I am aware, shrink wrapped as nearly all US product was, out to retail outlets in the UK. The catalogue numbers then imported by Transatlantic were some of the BST 84* prefix back catalogue, that had not been deleted in US, and the then current BN-LA 0 - F, G, H2,and J2 series, single and double copies of albums. Transatlantic did not to my knowledge have Blue Note product pressed in the UK, apart from a couple of 7" singles around 1974/75, which I own, whilst United Artists did press product from about 1976, when they took back the licensing rights for UK. Donald Byrds' albums were issued in UK via United Artists, who used EMI for pressing and distribution. I am confident that some Transatlantic US Blue Note product imported into UK was re-exported to other parts of Europe, and maybe further. I have no knowledge 35+ years later of who presses Blue Note product now, but as you mention France, then other than those who import small numbers of any currently available Blue Note product from the US, I shall of course take your word. I would recommend that "Europe" is used for a descriptive, if you know that the French pressings are freely distributed around Europe, of course including the UK. I have a number of Blue Note album copies, all US issue, and all from the 1970s, and to me that label will always be american.
