I dunno, all my friends think it's pretty cool I have all this old vinyl, but then we're all in our 60's or older so what do we know?

I do have one question, has the quality of the actual vinyl medium itself improved any? I firmly believe that part of why CD's took hold is because in the mid 70's producers started using a certain percentage of recycled vinyl in their product (I believe in the US it was by government mandate), so that the quality of the record itself was much poorer. I have releases from the 1950's and '60's that sound mint. releases after the early to mid 1970s's start to audibly deteriorate by the second playing. {lthough in the case of Disco that's no great loss :-) }
