This is where I meant to put my comment, and it's this.
I've always liked the way British TV stations identified themselves on-air. I remember well names like Granada, Thames/London Weekend, Tyne Tees, Heritage, HTV West, Anglia, Trident, ATV and others, though most, if not all those stations are now either long gone, or exist only as production companies these days. We saw the logos on our screens in Australia at the start of shows like Benny Hill, On The Buses, Please Sir, etc. And here are our stations hiding behind channel numbers instead of using their corporate names as their on-air identities. I cringe when I compare the two. But I've got to laugh when I see one of the newer stations on-air up there in Britain, Living TV, their schedule seems to contain shows about ghosts and dead people, so ironic!
