Hi all, see the albums under the MCA Chess page.

These LPs are a bit of a pain, due to MCA's inconsistent use of label names on different parts of the record. The actual record labels show "Chess Records" (the label design inherited when they acquired the catalogue from SugarHIll), with "MCA Records Inc." in small type at the bottom of the label; the back covers show a Chess logo with a smaller MCA Records logo under it; the spines say "MCA-Chess Records". I tend to think these should all be Chess, for the following reasons:

(1) Primary brand as shown on record labels;
(2) Promoted by MCA as Chess releases, including "The Original Chess Masters" logo on covers, and they also set up a "Chess Club" (NOT "Chess/MCA Club" or "MCA/Chess Club") were members could received catalogues, newsletters, etc (although this fizzled out after a short time);
(3) Chess catalogue, obviously;
(4) CH- catalogue number prefix.

Thoughts?
