Topic: UK #1s on 12" single format

They seem to be a good marker of the popularity of different formats. I did start doing the UK #1s as lists on 45cat. But as you say, quite a bit of work. Thanks for the info, great to know there were earlier 12" #1s. Funny that Boney M didn't take advantage of the extended playing time! That 1977 one is a lot of floating! Maybe the longest chart topper, at least until Frankie Goes to Hollywood... (Yes, I know the shorter 7" was the 'main' format though.) |
