Topic: VHS Tapes

 | Hawkmarty SUBS Do You Like It Here Now Member since Dec 2012 3050 Points Moderator | I was once told that if you wanted the original, uncut version of an oldish film or TV series you need the VHS tape of it. It is one of my bugbears that we are being manipulated by self-appointed censors who decide what we can and cannot watch and hear. For instance, you watch a new episode of a US comedy on E4 then weeks later any "questionable" script is cut. This leads to shrieks of laughter when nothing has been said! Even a scene where a creature was removed from Chekov's ear in Star Trek 2 was cut from the showing on terrestrial TV yesterday. Bah! We cannot change history but we can sanitise it. |
