If you're not lost... It's not an adventure! Member since Jun 2014 3774 Points Moderator | I've come to a juncture of having entered most everything I have to enter... so might be time to perform a "crazy Ivan" now, and take the opportunity to go back over a few things and see if I have more images to add...
(Which I undoubtedly do - sorry everyone )
... If there are some of mine that have images outstanding which anybody would like me to prioritise, give me a non-Facebook style poke, or prod in the digital ribs, and I'll bump them up the schedule.
((Got a few CDs entered recently I forgot to scan - squirrel! - and I recall I have some Supraphons and a Martha Argerich DG for Classical world)).
-- If you still have the scanner Roger, it may yet work if your new laptop is a windows gizmo... you must go into "run">"services.msc"> then scroll down and turn off and disable Windows Image Acquisition (W.I.A) --
>I also seem to remember from somewhere the concept of the "Shoebox scanner" technique for smartphones and handheld cameras... whereby you get a shoebox (sans shoes:) with a white or light coloured inside, poke a suitable hole in the bottom to accomodate the lens and flash, then put the shoebox over the item (CD...record label etc.), and take the picture... the shoebox holds the camera/smartphone in the correct position over the item, and the white inside contains the flash in a similar way to the white backing of a scanner lid, and disperses the light evenly.... you may have to experiment with focal lengths... distances from the item<
