	scrough 🍰 No picture 'cos I'm not into 45rpm :( Member since Jan 2013 3428 Points Moderator	It might seem that way, but a browse through the listing of the R/RO 20,000 series would soon convince you that many other artists appeared in this series (see also http://www.78discography.com/ParlophoneR20000.htm for the first 500 (to c.1941) in the series). Tauber started recording for Parlophone in London around 1933, and by the mid 1930s amost all his recordings were made there, rather than for Odeon in Germany. Although Tauber made many recordings in this series, his Jewish ancestry and marriage to a British actress in 1936 (see Wikipedia), made him leave Austria and become resident in Britain, and throughout the years of WW2 record royalties were a major part of his income, and he dominates this series during these war years. Obviously, no other 'Parlophone-Odeon' recordings were available in this period. He died in 1948. Edited by scrough on 8th Jun 2020, 12:41 AM
