musictom it's a good question and your avatar of the A&M Records label is a good example of a label where this does not occur, apart from it being a generally accepted protocol of the site. In CD Albums the label is listed as Third Man. However, here is a long list of the label's releases entered as Third Man Records and some are mine. I think that if the first entry was done incorrectly as Third Man Records it would embed itself in the dropdown label entry box and therefore make it very easy for subsequent entries to follow suit. Most of us would hit the label name in the dropdown without a thought and presume that because it's there, it's right. A bit of a tidy up might be in order here.
