Topic: His Master's Voice - Swing Music 19xx Series - numbering

 | Stephen Harris Member since Mar 2021 193 Points | Does anyone know the detail of how the numbering works for Swing Music series? It seems in general that the numbers are incremented irrespective of release year. However, I have examples of the same numbers being used in different years, e.g. Swing Music 1942 Series - No. 527 / 528 https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/b9291 Swing Music 1943 Series - No. 527 / 528 https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/b9334 The numbering obviously doesn't go back to zero each year, so is this just an error? I'd be interested to understand more. |
