I made a four-disc Enpsychedlica Britannica compilation for friends a few years ago. All British music which could be described as sike.

The first disc was a copy of a themed disc from Mojo followed by some of my faves. The usual subjects were present and correct but I also included things like Ladytron by Roxy. There were some then-bootleg Floyd tracks, like the Vegetable Man/Scream... single and live stuff, plus The Juicer by Sweet (more freakbeat than sike but still) and others, also the extended version of Defecting Grey the Pretties recorded for the BBC. Fun!

I've got those two Floyd tracks and a bunch more that are pretty hard to come by that'll eventually end up in the project.
I have two versions of Defecting Grey. One is a shorter one that I think they actually released on a single, the other is much better and previously unreleased and is nearly 6:00 long! There's also a track from a recent Pretty's single called, "All Light Up". Occasionally, I talk to Twink on FB.
I bumped into Phil May in the gents (!) at the 100 Club before a gig and congratulated him on the excellent SF Sorrow performance (entire album) on the South Bank I'd seen earlier. I have always kicked myself that I didn't ask him if they would ever do DG live!
That would be a difficult feat to manage! I actually saw someone perform "Revolution 9" live. Close, but no cigar! It was a bit telling from the very start. On the record, you can hear George Martin respond to someone talking about a wine by quietly saying, "Cheeky bitch". I've known ever since I bought the album in `69 that that's what he said! On this live performance, this guy stands there and LOUDLY proclaims, "YOU BITCH!!'". As for the rest of it, some of it was right on the money, other parts weren't even close. Nice attempt, though. E for effort.
