Back in `74, a friend of mine loaned me his copy of, "How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere At All" and I loved it. I've been a huge FT fan ever since.
On side two, "The Further Adventures Of Nick Danger", about 2:00 in, Nick says, "My nostrils flared at the smell of his perfume! There was only one joker in L.A. sensitive enough to wear that scent and I had to find out who he was!". And that's the way I heard it for DECADES!! It ran that way on Albert's copy, my copy and any other copy I ever played!! One day, I took over to a friends house to let them hear it and, suddenly, a new addition showed up on the recording!! NOW, there were two words added in the middle of those two sentences!! "Pyramid patchouli!". WHAT??? WHERE DID THAT COME FROM??? That's not on any copy I've ever heard before and that WAS MY copy that was being played!! All those years of me hearing that, I never ONCE knew I was missing an entire revolution of the album!! There was NO clicking noise that you'd normally hear if the needle jumped over a groove and it happened in a spot where there was NO SOUND (except for MAYBE a very softly played organ) so, it's not like a loud bass drum caused it to skip!!
Has anyone else's copy ever done that?
