I thought you meant Marigolds (the washing up gloves! )

The worst thing I ever found was when a clump of unstapled A4 paper, folded to make a "booklet" fell out of a record in a charity shop whilst I was digging in a crate...

... I looked, and it appeared to be someone's handwritten, and indeed, illustrated (in biro) guide to sexual positions and how to "entertain" one's "partner"

Very creepy.

But this thing flopped onto the floor where I was crouching, and there were other customers in the shop around me...

Suddenly aware that people might think it was mine, I began to sweat a bit (which wouldn't have helped matters... ("your honour") ... panicked, and wondered what to do... do I jam it back in the nearest record sleeve? - people might think it was me that put it in there in the first place!

...Maybe a place where nobody would ever find it again.... so I looked for the nearest James Last or (Coldplay album! )

But only a selection of Barry Manilow albums were there, and I had horrific visions of some old lady having bought it, and deciding to play her new album purchase one day, maybe in company, then: "plop", out it falls.

...So I decided in the end to justbuy any old crappy album from the box, put it inthere, then once outside, dispose of the thing, all the while praying the cashier wouldn't do that thing they sometimes do: "Have you checked the right record is in there?" (slides the record out to see >Thanks for the service!<).

I got my Manilow album out of the shop, ditched the evidence, wiped my brow, then later sent the album back to the same shop.

...Later, the thought occurred to me that maybe this was a ploy to shift the un- shiftable albums in the crates by enterprising charity shop staff, who'd hope to catch a sucker like me out with this trick... but that seems like me being a little too paranoid, on reflection. :embarrassed:
