I've recently been reading some UK 'Sounds Vintage' magazines from 1962. One of the things they raised was why Okeh records were so much more expensive than Parlophones for Louis Armstrong releases etc., as the Parlophones are probably better pressings than the Okehs. Its still the same today.

I've listened to and restored almost all my 78rpm records, and I only buy what my interests are. I can compare this with one of the other mods who I asked for a transcription of one of their records a couple of years ago. He replied that he didn't have any way of playing a 78rpm even though his house was overflowing with his 78rpm collection..

So I think I'm a 78rpm 'Listener' rather than a 'Collector'.
