If you are unsure about an entry's acceptability, do give us a shout before adding to the site.
If it's 45rpm and under 25 minutes playing time then it's nearly always classified as a single or EP and is admissable.
If it's 33rpm then it needs to be :
a) an extension of a single (7" or cd single etc.) release
b) a remix 12" (applicable to dance 12"'s with numerous remixes of the same track)
b) under 25 mins (approx). NOTE : 33rpm 12" discs that have five or more different tracks and run to over 25 mins are often what we're classing as "Mini LP's" and aren't accepted.
If it's 10", then it needs to be :
a) from 1970 onwards
b) not an LP (the Cat# is often a giveaway here, though anything 33rpm and over 25 mins long is going to raise suspicion !)
Please do feel free to raise suggestions or challenge any obvious anomalies, as in that way we can see whether these general guidelines hold firm or need tweaking.
And lastly, apologies to the few people who we've already had to delete entries by. We took a looong time over deciding these deletions, and hopefully you appreciate that it was done with the intention of trying to maintain a certain amount of uniformity to the site.
Many thanks, everyone - keep adding !!
