LaurenceD SUBS 23rd Feb 2024 | | Cassette AlbumMarty Robbins - The Song Of Robbins | Judging by the other contemporary releases listed on the insert/wrapper, this would seem to be from late 1978 or early 1979.
LaurenceD SUBS 28th Jan 2024 | | Cassette AlbumVarious Artists - Somewhere In Time (1989) | I'm not 100% certain about the 1989 release date for the HiQ version.
The earliest mention of any MCA HiQ cassettes that I have found is in Billboard June 7, 1986.
LaurenceD SUBS 26th Dec 2023 | | Cassette AlbumJohnny Rivers - Changes (1968) | Liberty released its first 24 cassette albums in December 1967; see: Billboard ad from Dec 2 1967
Johnny Rivers' Rewind album (C-0774) was included in that group, but this one was released some time in the first half of 1968.
LaurenceD SUBS 21st Sep 2023 | | Cassette AlbumProf. Kraus - Bach: Toccata Und Fuge, Dorische Toccata, Fantasie | I think that the organist may be Eberhard Kraus.
LaurenceD SUBS 29th Mar 2023 | | Cassette AlbumIggy And The Stooges - Raw Power (1973) | I added a scan from an insert with a different barcode; it has an additional "02" at the end.
Otherwise everything is the same as the existing entry. Shall I create a separate one?
LaurenceD SUBS 24th Jun 2022 | | Cassette AlbumNirvana - Nevermind (1991) | My images (3014718 - 3014724) are from a Columbia House edition (CRC).
LaurenceD SUBS 26th Apr 2022 | | Cassette AlbumThe Animal Kwackers - Christmas Favorites (1994) | This has no connection to the UK TV series; instead, it sounds like an attempt to ride the coattails of the Jingle Cats release from the previous Christmas season. The main difference here is the addition of sampled barnyard animals.
LaurenceD SUBS 11th Apr 2022 | | Cassette AlbumJoni Mitchell - Chalk Mark In A Rain Storm (1988) | Images 2948433-2948437 from BMG Direct Marketing release: C160304

LaurenceD SUBS 12th Jun 2021 | | Cassette AlbumMark Russell - Mark Russell Comedy Special (1986) | As stated at the end of the broadcast:

LaurenceD SUBS 12th May 2021 | | Cassette AlbumRudy Ray Moore - Eat Out More Often (1988) | The insert has a 1988 date while the tape has 1998. I'm pretty sure that 1988 is correct.
LaurenceD SUBS 17th Feb 2021 | | Reel-to-ReelThe Ray Charles Singers - Songs For Latin Lovers | Nah, this is a different Ray Charles. As far as I know, he has no releases credited as just "Ray Charles".

LaurenceD SUBS 6th Aug 2020 | | Cassette AlbumClarence White And The Kentucky Colonels - Clarence White And The Kentucky Colonels (1980) | One small problem with my copy: the tape actually plays an album by Steve Young called "Seven Bridges Road" (Rounder C-3058). Not a bad album though...
LaurenceD SUBS 14th Jul 2020 | | Cassette AlbumBee Gees - I've Gotta Get A Message To You (1978) | The insert does not mention the fact that tracks 7, 9 & 10 are solo releases.
LaurenceD SUBS 12th Jul 2020 | | Cassette AlbumStevie Ray Vaughan And Double Trouble - Couldn't Stand The Weather (1984) | Note that the track "Tin Pan Alley" is listed on the tape as "Roughest Place In Town"
LaurenceD SUBS 2nd Jul 2020 | | Cassette AlbumVarious Artists - Baseball's Greatest Hits (1990) | I have entered the tracks as listed on the insert and tape sides, however... there seems to have been a disconnect or change of plans for the format of this tape release. The tape actually plays all 23 tracks as on the CD release shown here. Side one ends with Sam and Dave's "Knock It Out Of The Park", and side two begins with Terry Cashman's "Play-By-Play".
LaurenceD SUBS 18th Jun 2020 | | Cassette AlbumVarious Artists - Newport Broadside | This would have been issued by RCOA some time after the fact, late 1960s or so.

LaurenceD SUBS 20th Nov 2019 | | Cassette AlbumMisha Knight - I Am A Gorby Man (1990) | El Paso Times May 29, 1990: Another Washington entrepreneur, Misha Knight, will be selling summit T-shirts and a cassette on which he is the star. Knight wrote all the songs on the cassette and that he and the band recorded them after drinking three bottles of vodka.
Associated Press / AP-NR-05-30-90 1614EST / AM-Summit-LafayettePark / Misha Knight, who emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1978 because he ``did not see a future there,'' said he came to this summit to show support for the growing friendship between the United States and his homeland.
He also was selling Gorbachev T-shirts _ $15 each _ and an $8 cassette tape featuring himself singing ``I Am a Gorby Man,'' and ``Give Peace a Hand,'' among other tunes.
El Paso Times June 1, 1990: No U.S. entrepreneur has a greater interest in the political longevity of Gorbachev than Misha Knight, the Washington manufacturer and hawker of Gorby T-shirts. Knight, who immigrated to the United States from the Soviet Union a dozen years ago and changed his name from Misha Nete, is making the rounds from Lafayette Park to the National Press Club to the summit press center at George Washington University with a suitcase of his shirts.
