nboldock 20th Jun 2014 | | Cassette AlbumChicago - Chicago | I tend to agree with TP here, and I'd certainly leave it as it is for now and see if anyone can shed any light on it.
nboldock 16th Jun 2014 | | Cassette AlbumRandy Crawford - Windsong | Interestingly for a European release, the main language on the cassette labels is not English, but Spanish (or is it Portuguese?). Perhaps this was a continental (i.e. mainland Europe excluding UK) release? I'm guessing, but could be. Note also, Spanish text on the inlay.
nboldock 9th Jun 2014 | | Cassette AlbumHerman's Hermits - No Milk Today (1988) | My guess would be re-recordings but that's purely a guess...
nboldock 2nd Jun 2014 | | Cassette AlbumBlack Sabbath - We Sold Our Soul For Rock 'N' Roll | CSL (a.k.a. Creative Sounds Limited) was (is?) an American budget reissue label.
nboldock 31st May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumHound Dog And The Megamixers - Greatest Ever Christmas Party Megamix (1992) | I don't have the tape for this one. I suspect this may be a blessing in disguise.
nboldock 31st May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumDame Wendy Hiller - Jane Eyre By Charlotte Brontë (1984) | Don't have the box/case for this but have added a scan to show what the cassettes look like. Perhaps someone else will add the missing images at some point in the future.
nboldock 28th May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumBlood, Sweat And Tears - Greatest Hits (1972) | Haha! Close!
I will fix this.
nboldock 23rd May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumSpyro Gyra - Morning Dance / Catching The Sun (1980) | Scans added.
Note the inlay contains a short list of some other MCA "Twinpax" releases - not enough detail to enter them on here (no tracklistings for starters) but possibly useful for future reference.
nboldock 16th May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumABBA - Greatest Hits | Another one here, a bit of digging on the internet suggests there are more... how many? Probably not many but worthy of a specific category?
EDIT: The "HalTapes" label released quite a few of them - like this one.
nboldock 16th May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumABBA - Greatest Hits | What an odd thing. Were there any more of these, does anyone know?
nboldock 14th May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles Box (1980) | Yes sorry - I meant "World Records" - y'er quite right.
nboldock 12th May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles Box (1980) | Yes, we would put Parlophone as the secondary label I think.
nboldock 12th May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles Box (1980) | World Record Club for me, yes - any more for any more?
nboldock 10th May 2014 | | Cassette SingleRobson And Jerome - Unchained Melody / (There'll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs Of Dover (1995) | Cassette variation added:
- different shell (see spools/wheels)
- copyright notice at bottom laid out differently
- composer credits not all upper case
Side 2 same (aside from the side number) so haven't bothered adding.
nboldock 2nd May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumVarious Artists - Top Of The Pops 60s (1996) | Haha, absolutely. And it sounds miles better if you sprinkle sugar on it!
nboldock 1st May 2014 | | Cassette AlbumPeter Cook And Dudley Moore - Comic Relief And PG Tips Presents An Evening With Peter Cook And Dudley Moore And E.L. Wisty (1995) | I've created a list of these tapes in order to group them together. Four so far. Is that all of them??
nboldock 28th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumHillsong - Hillsong Instrumental Series Volume 1 (1999) | This is an Australian label specialising in Christian music by the looks of things, but the inlay states it is a UK-distributed release so I've aligned it as such.
nboldock 28th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumJames Last - Maestro Of Melody Volume 3 | This is part of a boxed set but I only have this tape in my possession. If/when the box gets added (if it does) then we can merge this entry if needs be.
nboldock 27th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumLuciano Pavarotti - Neopolitan Songs (1979) | I don't have the cover for this, only the tape.
nboldock 27th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumSharron Davies - Sleep-Fit! With Sharron Davies | I don't have the tape for this one.
nboldock 27th Apr 2014 | | Cassette SingleINXS - Suicide Blonde / Everybody Wants U Tonight (1990) | I don't have the sleeve/cover for this one, only the tape. I'm sure someone will fill in the gaps at some point.
nboldock 27th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumRay Conniff - We Wish You A Merry Christmas | Note the word "Christmas" is notable by its absence from the front cover!
nboldock 24th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumApu - Uchuracay (1989) | Ah, so it does, I didn't spot that.
nboldock 23rd Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumApu - Uchuracay (1989) | ...isn't the artist on this "Uchuracay"?
nboldock 23rd Apr 2014 | | Cassette Album[no artist listed] - French Words (1993) | Originally accompanied by a book (which I don't have) which it seems the young listener would follow while listening to the tape (I assume, from the context of the inlay notes - scans to follow).
nboldock 23rd Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumChants de Taizé - Chanter Ensemble (1982) | I'm not sure whether I have the right artist name / album title here but I'll get the scans up soon and perhaps our Francophone users can then confirm or advise.
nboldock 22nd Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumBadness - Skasoles! On Tour (1995) | I emailed Badness to find out about a release date for this and here's the response from lead singer Mike Watts:
The date we recorded the tape was March 1995, it was recorded at Wall to Wall studios in Hull by the original line up of Badness after only forming 8 months earlier.
MIKE WATTS (vocals)
CHRIS GOUGH (guitar/vocals)
PAUL PETERSON drums/vocals
BOB STEPHENSON (bass)
STEVE FLOWERS (keyboards)
JOHN WELFORD (sax)
DAVE CLEMENTS (trumpet)
Now in our 20th year I'm the only original member in the band & remember the recording fondly.
Hope this info helps and thanks again for your email.

nboldock 17th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumVarious Artists - Five Alive (1993) | I don't think it's much of an issue either way but it's fine as it is I think. I would probably have gone for album also, even though it's a bit "betwixt and between". As long as we have it on in one way or another that's the main thing. Keep 'em coming!
nboldock 17th Apr 2014 | | Cassette AlbumVarious Artists - Chef Aid: The South Park Album (1998) | In case anyone really doesn't know, "Chef" is of course voiced by Isaac Hayes.
