PhilMH ● 28th Jan 2019		Cassette Album David Bowie - Scary Monsters (1980)	Added release month of September; most likely released the same time as the LP, which entered the chart on September 22nd, and which has the code A980F on the back cover, see Discogs entry.
PhilMH ● 25th Jan 2019		Cassette Album Jimi Hendrix - Johnny B Goode. An Original Video Soundtrack (1986)	Probably actually a 1987 release, going by the Axis list in Michael de Looper's latest update to his EMI album listing (see top of page 175)
PhilMH ● 21st Jan 2019		Cassette Album Jeff Beck - The Best Of Jeff Beck (1988)	I haven't been able to find a date for this - Michael De Looper's latest EMI albums listing has this number as an unfilled gap, with nearby filled numbers suggesting that it would have been a 1988 or 1989 release, but there's nothing for this in my Platterlogs from that time. It does look 80's to me, though, particularly because of the barcode, so either it was released in 88/89 and didn't get into Platterlog for some reason, or Michael's slightly off with his dates and it was released earlier but deleted before August 1988 (the date of the first Platterlog that I have). It was also released on LP, which Discogs has (undated) - I don't know where the 1977 copyright date comes from, though, because there's no UK or other country release from that year.
PhilMH ● 11th Jan 2019		Cassette Album B. B. King - The Best Of B.B. King (1973)	The 1973 date applies to the original issue on ABC. MCA reissues of ABC albums are 1979 at the earliest, and the 27000 "Past Performance" series originated in about 1981.
PhilMH ● 10th Jan 2019		Cassette Album The Rolling Stones - Rolled Gold (1975)	The 1975 version of this cassette was distributed by EMI, and had catalogue number TC-ROST 1/2 (essentially, the LP number prefixed by TC-, as was usual for EMI group releases). This PolyGram-distributed release would be from 1980 at the earliest. (Edited: missed a digit in the catalogue number).

PhilMH ● 18th Dec 2018		Cassette Album Dire Straits - Making Movies (1980)	Looking at this catalogue number in Discogs, various international editions used this same number for both the standard and the chrome editions, so I think we should just show 1980 as the first release date for the number; the LP version 6359 034 entered the Australian album chart the week of 1 December 1980, so that points to a November release.
PhilMH ● 18th Nov 2018		Cassette Album Electric Light Orchestra - On The Third Day (1973)	Not 1973 for this UA version, more likely 1975 or later: the 1973 German release was on Warner Bros. Also, I don't think the company name United Artists Music And Records Group, Inc. came into use until about 1974.
PhilMH ● 1st Aug 2018		Cassette Album Creedence Clearwater Revival - The Concert (1980)	More likely 1981 (or later?) for this; the original album was released in the US about October 1980 as THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL CONCERT, but in January 1981 Fantasy discovered that the tape had been improperly labelled, and this concert had actually been recorded at Oakland Coliseum, so the album was retitled from then on.
PhilMH ● 28th Jul 2018		Cassette Album Neil Young - Decade (1976)	Hi ady, WE 451 isn't a catalogue number, but a price code, and many other French WEA releases would have shown exactly the same code. I think all the French record companies used similar codes, e.g. CB for CBS, VG for Vogue, PM for Pathe Marconi EMI, RC for RCA, BA for Barclay, etc.
PhilMH ● 23rd Jul 2018		Cassette Album John Fogerty - The Blue Ridge Rangers (1973)	1973 is the copyright date, being the date of the original issue on Fantasy 9415 that was credited to The Blue Ridge Rangers; this is a mid-priced reissue from 1981.
PhilMH ● 12th Jul 2018		Cassette Album Roger Miller - Words And Music	Sorry Jasper, I can't help much with this one, both the short and the long number formats are unfamiliar to me, but I would imagine that this is pre-1970, when the Philips and Polydor labels adopted the 7-digit numbering system (Philips group tapes were numbered 7xxx xxx thereafter).
PhilMH ● 19th Jun 2018		Cassette Album Acker Bilk And His Paramount Jazz Band - Extremely Live In Studio One (On A Cold April Night)	Awkward one! Michael de Looper's listings suggest that this was probably first released in Australia around about late 1978 or early 1979, tieing in with the UK release on Pye shortly before, and would have been released here on Astor as Pye didn't become PRT until September 1980, and Astor would have introduced the PRT brand at about that time. So, this must have been manufactured in September 1980 at the earliest, and I am very surprised that this sold well enough to warrant a second run. Maybe adding PRT as second label is the best option here.

PhilMH ● 10th May 2018		Cassette Album Michael Jackson - The Best Of Michael Jackson (1987)	Early 90's reissue after Motown moved from MCA to PolyGram in late 1991, and catalogue numbers were reformatted to start with 37463.
PhilMH ● 10th May 2018		Cassette Album Bill Cosby - Side 1 The Dentist / Natural Childbirth (1982)	Early 90's reissue; Motown catalogue numbers starting with 37463 came into effect when the label moved from MCA to PolyGram in late 1991.
PhilMH ● 10th May 2018		Cassette Album Lionel Richie - Can't Slow Down (1983)	Hi Jasper, this one is a 1984 reissue; the 1983 original was via PolyGram, then the Motown licence moved to RCA the following year.

PhilMH ● 3rd May 2018		Cassette Album Johnny Cash And The Tennessee Two - Original Golden Hits (1969)	(P) 1969 applies to this album's original US release. As this has a 7-digit Philips/Phonogram number, it must be 1970 or later, and as the next 5 albums on the label were all reviewed in Gramophone in February 1971 (in their LP versions), chances are that this was released around the same time.

PhilMH ● 1st May 2018		Cassette Album Johnny Cash - Original Golden Hits, Vol 3	Discogs has the US LP equivalent (Sun 127) as both 1971 and 1972 - there is a 1971 (P) date on this - but it would seem to have been late 1971, being reviewed in Billboard's 4th December issue, so I would think that 1972 is more likely for the UK releases.
PhilMH ● 20th Apr 2018		Cassette Album Ella Fitzgerald - Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Johnny Mercer And Jerome Kern Songbooks (1976)	LP equivalent 2610 025 was reviewed in the December 1976 Gramophone, and the 1984 Music Master also gives that as the LP release date (cassette appears to have been deleted by then), so it is reasonable to assume that this tape was released at the same time as the LP.

PhilMH ● 4th Apr 2018		Cassette Album Dusty Springfield - Stay Awhile	I've had no luck with this one; my copy of Paul Howes' book THE COMPLETE DUSTY SPRINGFIELD lists this without a date, and Discogs don't have it. Best I can come up with is no earlier than 1970 (when Philips/Phonogram adopted the 7-digit catalogue numbers) and no later than 1983 (when they switched to the 8xx xxx-x style of numbering). Earliest Music Master catalogue I have is 1984, and it's not in that; has anyone got the 1970's editions?
PhilMH ● 3rd Apr 2018		Cassette Album Olivia Newton-John - Come On Over (1976)	Cashbox article indicates that the 37000 "Platinum Plus" midline reissue series debuted with 80 titles in August 1980, so this would appear to have been one of them. Presumably the Canadian issue would have been at about the same time, but I think we can safely make this one 1980 at least.
