 a very peculiar piece, very arresting and very exciting performed live on stage - enthralling, even.
if you ever have a chance to see it performed, jump at it - there's nothing i know quite like it - or anywhere close, really. very much a period piece.

(and it mayn't be by quilter, or anything like his music, but it'd play equally well to the same audiences, presented as an afternoon's or evening's entertainment in a great country house's living-room for family, friends & set similarly to that great quilter half-concert's conceit, valerie.)
