I think it's a good idea. We differentiate between cassette singles and cassette albums, so it's not purely about the physical format. It's also about the type of content, and I concur with the view that these aren't albums.

That's been suggested and might not be a bad idea. It's up to admin of course but who knows, something along those lines may well happen at some point.

Perhaps it would pay to have an "Audiobook" option in the format menu however?.There are thousands of these,it might be wise to segregate?

We had a conversation about these on the Mod forum before I added them. Yes, they do belong here, though I take your point about the definition of "album".

As on the other worlds, there is no rule that says we only accept music - spoken word is common throughout all worlds. Clearly audio books are a very specific form of spoken word but nonetheless, there is no reason why they should not be here.

I suppose you could look at it as saying that we are interested in recorded media, not just music, so to ignore these would be to omit a huge part of the database.

They're not "albums" as such, but that's the closest category we have, at the moment.

These are audio books, can we really call them "Cassette Albums?
There is rarely any music on them at all,and they really should be considered as "books",do they have a place here?.
PS.I believe that a good percentage of all (mainly fiction) books are still issued on cassette,as they are aimed at mainly the elderly, infirm, sight impaired who still have a use for them, just a word of warning,i deal with 100's of these in the charity shops where i volunteer,it could be a real "can of worms"!.
