At a glance I'd imagine they are different labels, but some scans would be helpful.

I'm not so sure. I think they might be the same. The 'classic' Embassy label with its soundalike singles seems to have endured through the 70s as a budget LP brand. The label design is different but I think it's basiaclly a continuation of the same label.

Indeed - I believe the rights to the name ended up with CBS, which issued many LPs on that label, even by acts such as Spirit!

I suppose keeping rights going stops someone else using the name.

I think TP is right - I remember seeing the odd LP in the early/mid 70s on the label, usually in the sorts of places you'd expect to find such releases, like a gift shop in Barmouth for example.

Embassy was owned by Oriole, who were taken over by CBS. To quote Wp: " from 1970 through to 1980, CBS Records revived the Embassy imprint to release budget versions of albums in the UK and Europe by artists that were signed to its parent company, Columbia Records."/

Ahh, but on 45cat the sole EMB prefixed Embassy is down as Embassy (2)

That's a completely different label. Just coincidence that they use the EMB prefix.
