entering composers

curious to which text is most appropriate for entering composers

IMO the text the way it is printed on the record labels is the one to use, but I've noticed that members enter full names.

Any input, suggestions... does it matter??

Go with what is printed however you will find on a fair few albums the label, cover and inner all have different variations of the same information. If it is shown in full somewhere on the album (be it label, cover, insert) I always go with the full name.

seems to be... Guidelines (standards) were never written for things as detailed as this. Everything is basically decided via forum discussion and that's provided anyone is interested in discussing it.

We took out this line as it was being taken to extremes.

Composer credits can be taken from anywhere on the packaging - label, sleeve, inner sleeve or insert. Just not made up!

We also simplified the guides a while back as the truth is that they are bit like instructions when opening a new toaster. No-one wants to read them if it's more than one page.
