According to Steven Barr, this is indeed a British label. The company was based in Germany and used the name Favorit for German releases. They also apparently issued records for Russia as well. The rough table of dates given in Barr's Almost Complete 78 RPM Dating Guide indicates that No. 344 would probably be from around Sep-Oct 1911.
Many thanks for the information.
Thinking about it, the release date of Sep-Oct would make sense. I took the date from the label, but that is probably when it was recorded. Maybe an admin could amend the entry please.
Thanks again,
Tony
"A major record manufacturer in the early years, the German-based Favorite record company began exporting to England in 1908. From WWI they were pressed at the Mead Works in Hertfordshire until about 1920 using a variety of different matrix sources. Many Favorites have no catalogue numbers, just single-sided-type numbering."
