Because I am such a nut about 78s, I have some items to I hope to find/ have on 78. It is sort of my 78 rpm bucket list. They may be things that don't actually exist.
My list includes:
The Spotnicks -- gotta be a 78 of something by them in maybe India, South America or the Philippines
The Honeycombs - Have I the Right -- Could there be a 78 on Pye in the Philippines?
Helen Shapiro - Walking Back to Happiness -- it does exist on an Odeon 78
Alma Cogan -- any US 78 on RCA -- not sure if one exists
Anne Shelton - Lay Down Your Arms - a 78 on US Columbia - it does exist but I've seen one
Gene Pitney - Town Without Pity -- does exist on a Musicor 78 from the Philippines
Oh Neil - Carole King -- Maybe in South America?
Marty Robbins -- El Paso -- there is a 78 on CBS in South Africa
Baker Knight and Knightmares - Bring My Cadillac Back -- US Decca - it does exist
Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini -- Brian Hyland -- exists in Brazil
Banjo Boy - Jan And Kjeld -- maybe somewhere - South Africa

Given that most of wants are high value items, I do have some that are more reasonable. Being the strange little girl (hmmm- wasn't that a song by the Stranglers) that I am-- I am out to collect every variety on 78 rpm of both Piove (Ciao Ciao Bambina), and Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volaré) by Domenico Modugno -- the Eurovision biggies.
Naturally -- it s partly because I am a Eurovision nut -- but also because it is a silly thing to do -- and I am all for silly
