I have a copy of the album Joe Jackson - Look Sharp! 10" of which the cataloguenumber has been re-stickered from SP-3666 to SP6017.
This is the only difference from the original SP-3666.

Should this be a new entry or shall I just add the image of this re-stickered record with the old entry?

In the early 80's it was common for A&M to re-sticker their old stock with a new cataloguenumber. And only when the old stock was sold out, new records would be produced with this new number.
Probably A&M never reprinted this SP6017 record.

You can choose which way you do it, Plaatjesman :-)

I say new listing. Regardless of how it was presented on the label, the record has a new cat number. Always, a different cat number means a different entry.

OK, I added a new entry.

But why were the 2 seperate entries of a Canadian release of Joe Jackson - Big World combined to 1 release by the moderators?
They even had the cataloguenumbers printed on the labels and back cover.

Looks like a borderline case. The original cat number is on the second press as well, but there's an additional one. It maybe hasn't changed, so much as been added to.

Related question.

What does one do when the catalog number on the sleeve and on the disc don't match?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always felt the disc label was the ruling document

Thanks

That's what I think too - unless you know for certain that it's the other way around, and the label is a misprint.

Label rules for me, and just add the cover cat# as a shadow (second).

We can add secondary catalogue numbers now so not the problem that it used to be.
