Hello there!

My college radio station is so kind as to give away their extra CDs to the public. As a result, I've obtained quite a few "advance" copies.

Is it possible to enter these as a sub-format of some sort? Many have packaging that differs from the retail release - notably, cardboard sleeves, no barcodes, and radio contact information somewhere on the sleeve.

Also - if one of these promotional CDs comes with a flyer describing the band or promoting the release, should it be added to the release, as is the case with promo 45s?

I think they are just "promo" releases and can be listed under that category. In some cases, if they have say 6 tracks, you'll have to decide whether they are albums or singles/EPs.

As for associated items, again it requires a bit of judgement as to whether they are part of the item or just something sent out with it. If the former, then they an go on the page. If the latter, it depends how closely they relate to it - for example an advance promo CD of a forthcoming album with a flyer promoting the release would be viable. A flyer just plugging the band might not.
