Ah -- my corner of the world
Neptoon and Beat Merchant are well worth it
For cheap stuff of all sorts -- 45s, LPs, CDs, and the occasional 78 -- any of the following thrift stores work
Salvation Army
Bibles for Missions
St Vincent de Paul
Value Village
If you see a girl with long blonde hair, killer curves, dressed in a denim skirt listening to an iPod while drinking a latte from Starbucks -- that's NOT me -- I'm the wiry athletic tomboy with the short hair in the jeans and flannel shirt drinking a double-double from Tim Hortons with the stack of 78s under her arm
Amy
Late edit: for the unknowing,a double-double is a coffee with double cream and double sugar
Perhaps a record shop in Ottawa, would be helpful for a lot of pundits out there. It is on Wellington Street, west of Ottawa Downtown, called 'The Record Centre'.
I could have got a rare European single by the Ventures (I forgot the title now) but the asking price - ten bucks, I had to be canny with the money then. Anyway loads of 45's for 50 Cents plus. Loads of LP's too, probably different prices.
And not far to the east, is the St Vincent De Paul Thrift store.
A previous visit to Ottawa, revealed another shop selling 45's and LP's on Rideau Street, not far west of the Rideau Centre (If still there?), called 'Vertigo Records', No 193 Rideau Street.
