When submitting CD's with new/changed catalog numbers

I'm curious about something when submitting CD's (and other Formats).

Many releases have minor changes made to unsold existing copies. Although, the change is minor.

Stickers are applied, changing catalog numbers, etc. and I would think the release should be submitted under the information originally printed and any changes should be described in Notes. A prime example would be here.
This release, if placed in a new case... would have all original info. The disc and spines of the inlay, have all the information when it was manufactured.

Creating separate entries for both copies does no harm, and more importantly it allows a search on either cat.no.
If you see double entries like this please 'link' the two versions
