Yes we should have one here too.
Shame to start it with Patrick Macnee. Good innings though.

Sadly, this thread could get very busy indeed, as 45worlds encompasses more than just music.

Indeed. There will of course be some overlap with 45cat, but there are many more people who will be appropriate here.
The Avengers was one of the earliest 'grown up' programmes that I remember being allowed to watch. Great programme.

Does anyone else find the RIP thread a bit macabre?

RIP Magali Noël
Magali Noël, a Turkish-born French singer and actress who became a favorite of the director Federico Fellini and whose rendition of the song “Fais-Moi Mal, Johnny” (“Hurt Me, Johnny”) proved scandalous because of its masochistic lyrics, died on Tuesday in Châteauneuf-Grasse, in southeastern France. She was 83.

Jean Ritchie (December 8, 1922 – June 1, 2015) .
Born in Viper,Kentucky Jean continued singing and championing the mountain music she had heard as a child, as well as playing the Appalachian dulcimer for accompaniment. She also wrote songs about the effects of large corporate exploitation of resources in her birthplace.
Her influence in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s was prominent in the folk music world, and most strongly demonstrated in Joni Mitchell's 'Blue' album.

I wasn't aware of his passing until I saw this post just now. There was nothing about his passing on our TV news here in Australia.
