Hello people, especially moderators and people in charge

I've got a question in regard to how you'd like records entered into the system. Let's say it's a record that says "LOUIS ARMSTRONG AND HIS HOT FIVE" on the label - should this be entered as "Louis Armstrong" in the Artist field with "Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five" in the notes, or should it be entered as "Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five" in the artist field?" I think I've been alternating between the two, and would like to know exactly what you'd prefer me to do so I know. :happy:

If 'The Hot Five' was a set bunch of musicians, who possibly released records on their own for example then I'd include them.

If it's something like 'And Orchestra' 'And His Band' - i.e. anonymous.

Then It should be added to notes.

If you end up creating a new identity for an act which is logically not new (so, in this example, you create "...and the Hot Five" for the first time) then submit a change request asking for the act to be merged into the discography of "Louis Armstrong" and it will be made to appear there.
