Is there a chance of adding a few more Genres for the drop down list ---- such as ...
Local Guides - Guides - Local Interest.
Photobook or Local Views.
Walking, Hiking, Riding.
Informational.

Could be others too!

A drop-down list would get too big, but there's all the categories you could want (almost) in the Class Numbers List

Can we have a genre to cover plays/theatre? I've entered a handful of Beckett plays but none of the existing genres quite fit.

"Drama" is probably the appropriate genre.
It's a while since anyone suggested this, so I will bump the request.

Without waiting for a new genre, you can already add a classification number, using the "DDC" Class Number. The "Guide - Adding Books" directs you to the oclc.org website

The class will be 822 - English drama (Literature)

I've done that for the Beckett books you've already added
