This week they reached back to an episode of the show Venture was broadcast in 1960. Look Back and Listen: The Phonograph <--Click here to listen The early days of the phonograph record and the people who made the popular music that filled them. Before radio came along, it was nothing short of thrilling to hear voices come out of a box in your own living room. www.capsnews.org The section: Recorded Sound in Canada is very useful for dating labels like Victor. BTW -- I have captured the program as an MP3 file. Not sure if youtube (copyright fanatics like Sony/BMG or Universal) would smack me if I posted it out there. Amy |
