I went with my wife to see this on Sunday 8 July 2018 at the Picturehouse in Brighton. The surround sound was amazing.

I went to see the restored version with my wife last July, and while the restoration was brilliant, I was appalled to see that they've permanently defaced the artwork you're supposed to be noticing with the lyrics for every song in the movie, as captions. Like they thought we were all going to sing along in the theatre, but we didn't know what the words were. It's as though they don't know who their audience is.

Is that the case everywhere, for every showing? :erk:

As far as I know, yes. The current theatrical version has lyrics captions for each song.

Did YS get a cinema release before any soundtrack release, I think I saw it on Telly in the 1960s, I didn't really get it, maybe I am not a fan of that kind of animation (dont like the Monty Python animations eiether ).
