I have added this list to the site. It's the top films in Britain based on cinema admissions. I'm attempting to see the films on the big screen where possible.

The list was published in 2004, and excludes documentaries and anything released before 1934. I have attempted to keep track of those films which would make an updated version of the list since 2004, and other possible additions. I may add these here in future. For now, the Top 100 is as it was in 2004. Most of the films were already on this site thankfully, but there were a few I had to add.

Very interesting - although rather franchise-heavy the more recent we get (especially since 2004). Harry Potter, James Bond, Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars.

In 2004 it was. It has now been overtaken by Skyfall.

I might add the updated chart as a separate listing here, so that the original 2004 chart remains visible. That's the only one the BFI have published. There was a tie-in book which is nicely done.
