| Beatles Yellow Submarine 1969 Mono on Apple Records (Export) |

 | Patrick Gross Member since Jul 2018 3 Points | Hello All, I recently picked up a very unusual 1969 Beatles Yellow Submarine Mono album still in the shrink on the Apple UK label PMC 7070 that is a export and "not" on Odeon! It is a super early copy with 1G/1G Matrix numbers and 1/1 stampers. By now this must be getting some raised eyebrows. It is still in the shrink (not sealed) with a store sticker from "Jordan Marsh" a store located in Boston, Mass. founded in 1841 with a long history of owners during it's history ( Federated Dept.Stores in 1988 then the "store" name was retired and converted to Macy's in 1996) I left out a few other owners prior to 1988. The front cover has a large 2-1/2 x 3" Gold foil Odeon sticker in the upper left corner, a smaller 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 gold foil Odeon sticker is on the back cover in lower left corner, also a 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 Gold Odeon sticker on the LP side 1 label at 12 o'clock. The LP looks very correct, not fake, with correct aging of the store sticker and shrink wrap. What I have been told is that this was a super early export out of the UK to countries in which the Apple trademark was not registered. Any ideas or observations as to the very very rare nature of this album? (a UK Beatles album sold in an american store, wow)... Edited by Patrick Gross on 17th Dec 2018, 3:48 AM |
