The Beatles - Please Please Me on CD
I was around in 1963, a young teenager, doing a morning and sometimes an evening paper round......it's a Friday evening, and The Beatles are on D'Telly that night, and I'm showing another youngster the paper round on the Stockwell Studley estate, in S. London which I had been covering for the boss, until a replacement could be found. I'm a veteran paper-boy of 14 and this kid of 13, the son of Italian parents who owned a corner Cafe, just isn't getting it......either he's stupid or just lazy.
I get more and more het up at the lack of progress we're making delivering the evening newspapers, so as we deliver the last of the papers to a five or six storey block of flats, rather than get the two-man lift back down, I run and jump down the stairs, much quicker than the lift......6 or seven concrete stairs at a time.....and I come unstuck, I leapt down a half flight of stairs.....and broke my right ankle!!
Only I didn't know I had fractured it, I had never broken any bones before that time, and although in a lot of pain, I continued on, we were just about finished the round anyway, and we rode our bicycles back to our homes, with me pedaling with my left leg only.
All I wanted to do was to see The Beatles, and I ended up coming home from Hospital next day in an Ambulance, with my right leg in plaster from my tootsies up to just below my knee...
There's A Place
Always loved John and Paul's close harmony on this song............from the album.

Aye the good old days, I had 2 paper rounds, morning and evening when I was about 13 in 1967. Well you just had to get the money from somewhere to buy all this great music that was happening, happy days

Cheat.....Cheat.....Cheat.....
....well, it is a CD single, and it has 4 tracks....so here goes
Electronic - Idiot Country Two - 6:24
Barney Sumner and Johnny Marr rock it out...I was on board at the spoken intro...
I like the cheeky little organ break in the middle, and then back to the rhythm.....if you're not moving and grooving along to this insidious concoction....well never mind.
Intro lyric: spoken
You ever had any obsessions? I mean ideas that drive you to do something.....
Well yeah, I guess so.......I used to have spells where I was afraid to touch a knife for fear I'd cut my throat....
Ever feel that way now?.......
