1) Is this pressing in original Mono? 2) Has it been reissued in Stereo? 3) Worse still -has it digitalised then just put to vinyl? Thank you to anyone that maybe able to assist. Yours Sincerely, Sandra Johnson,Tasmania

I suspect it's mono only, and the GU ("Gravure Universelle") is shorthand for "mono, also playable on stereo equipment". A 1961 ad in Billboard suggests that the original release was in mono only (no "V6" prefix shown for the catalogue number, unlike several of the other albums shown); Discogs has a US "stereo" version (dated 1961 - probably incorrect) which seems to be an electronic stereo version, as electronic stereo was all the rage for previously mono releases in the late 60's to mid-70's. Japanese issues from the early 80's seem to be mono only, and there aren't enough images on the various CD versions to indicate whether or not they are stereo, but I think it most likely they are mono, and that no stereo tapes exist. As for digitisation, I don't think that was being done on catalogue releases in 1981.
